Abu Dhabi, UAE — October 9, 2025:
The Quantum Maritime Conference 2025, hosted at the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, concluded as a landmark event bringing together global leaders, scientists, policymakers, and innovators to explore the convergence of quantum technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and maritime innovation. Among the distinguished participants was Dr. Zuhair Ahmed, a pioneering Pakistani quantum researcher, theoretical physicist, and author of the groundbreaking book “Quantum Warfare.”
Held under the patronage of AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS) and organized by the Vernewell Group, the two-day conference formed a key component of the Quantum Innovation Summit’s QInnovision Consortium, advancing the Quantum Adoption Strategy across critical sectors such as cybersecurity, logistics, and sustainability.
Representing the The Centre of Excellence for Technology Quantum and AI Pakistan (CETQAP), Dr. Zuhair Ahmed took part in strategic discussions on quantum-secure communication networks, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and AI-driven optimization for maritime logistics.
During a featured session on “Quantum Intelligence and the Blue Economy,” Dr. Ahmed explored how quantum coherence, entanglement, and probabilistic reasoning can revolutionize navigation, energy management, and predictive maintenance within maritime ecosystems.
“Quantum technologies are no longer theoretical curiosities—they are the next operational reality,” stated Dr. Ahmed. “Integrating quantum communication and AI within the maritime sector enables not only secure operations but also consciousness-driven adaptability in decision systems—bridging physics, intelligence, and sustainability.”
His remarks reflected the conference’s theme of translating deep science into operational intelligence, underscoring the UAE’s leadership in establishing sovereign technology ecosystems and fostering international research alliances.
Dr. Zuhair Ahmed, widely recognized for his interdisciplinary research on quantum consciousness, cryptography, and national resilience, is also the author of “Quantum Warfare” — a visionary work examining the strategic, ethical, and technological dimensions of quantum conflict in the emerging digital era. His insights at the conference resonated with policymakers and researchers alike, particularly in discussions on quantum deterrence, information sovereignty, and the security of maritime communications.
His participation alongside leading global experts, including His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Professor Sir Kostya Novoselov (Nobel Laureate), and Dr. Yasser Al Wahedi, reinforced the global commitment to build quantum-resilient infrastructures through collaboration between academia, government, and industry.
A defining highlight of the event was the launch of the Quantum and AI Blue Initiative, a collaborative effort between AD Ports Group, Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, and Vernewell Group.
Dr. Ahmed commended the initiative for integrating education, research, and enterprise, and expressed optimism about regional cooperation in developing quantum-safe, AI-augmented maritime systems.
“The Quantum and AI Blue Initiative sets a transformative precedent for global collaboration,” he noted. “It embodies the spirit of scientific unity—where quantum intelligence becomes a catalyst for sustainable progress across industries.”
Dr. Zuhair Ahmed’s presence symbolized Pakistan’s growing contribution to global quantum research, emphasizing cross-border collaboration between the UAE and South Asia in advancing quantum communication, post-quantum cryptography, and sensing technologies.
His discussions with scientists from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and EDGE Group opened doors for joint projects on quantum-secure defense communication and AI-based threat modeling, building toward a future of quantum-informed resilience and ethical innovation.
The Quantum Maritime Conference 2025 established Abu Dhabi as a global nexus for maritime and quantum innovation, showcasing how science, policy, and technology can unite to build a smarter, safer, and sustainable blue economy. With thought leaders like Dr. Zuhair Ahmed at the forefront, the bridge between quantum science and real-world application continues to expand—ushering in a new era of quantum-secure global infrastructure and intelligence.
