ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — June 2026 —
The Centre of Excellence for Technology, Quantum and AI Pakistan (CETQAP) has officially announced the release of PKTron v9.0.0, a major milestone for Pakistan’s growing quantum technology ecosystem and one of the most comprehensive quantum computing software releases developed from South Asia.
The latest version introduces two entirely new research systems — NEQ (Non-Equilibrium Mode) and NEF (Noise & Error Free Framework) — alongside a broad ecosystem spanning quantum simulation, quantum machine learning, quantum cryptography, quantum chemistry, quantum finance, defense optimization, benchmarking, error correction, and hardware-aware quantum software development.
Developed by CETQAP, PKTron v9.0.0 now ships with more than 180 public classes, 60+ public functions, 45+ modules, GPU acceleration, MPI distributed computing support, six quantum error-correction codes, twelve-plus error-mitigation methods, and interoperability with major quantum platforms including Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, Braket, IonQ, Quil, and OpenQASM3.
The headline feature of Version 9.0.0 is the introduction of two novel systems:
NEQ (Non-Equilibrium Mode) enables researchers to investigate quantifiable post-Born-rule probability distributions while preserving exact Born-rule recovery at γ = 0, providing detailed metrics including Total Variation Distance (TVD), Kullback-Leibler divergence, Hellinger distance, and partition-function analysis.
NEF (Noise & Error Free Framework) introduces a unified five-layer error mitigation pipeline combining Dynamical Decoupling (DD), Zero-Noise Extrapolation (ZNE), Probabilistic Error Cancellation (PEC), Clifford Data Regression (CDR), and Symmetry Verification (SV) into a single orchestrated framework with detailed error-budget reporting.
PKTron integrates quantum computing disciplines that are often distributed across multiple software packages into a single framework. The platform includes advanced quantum algorithms, quantum neural networks, quantum GANs, quantum autoencoders, quantum chemistry solvers, quantum key distribution protocols, benchmarking suites, and high-performance simulation engines optimized through AVX-512, AVX2, OpenMP, GPU acceleration, and distributed computing technologies.
The release represents another step in Pakistan’s participation in the rapidly expanding global quantum technology landscape. Through CETQAP, researchers and developers are working to provide students, scientists, educators, and innovators with advanced quantum computing tools developed within Pakistan while maintaining compatibility with international quantum ecosystems.
