CETQAP to Launch Pakistan’s First Quantum Labs in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Karachi for Students & Research with IBM Quantum to use

Islamabad, Pakistan – 1st Jan 2025:  —The Centre of Excellence for Technology Quantum and AI (CETQAP) is set to revolutionize the landscape of education and research in Pakistan by inaugurating the nation’s first-ever Quantum Lab. The facility, to be established in Islamabad (or Rawalpindi/Karachi based on finalized decisions), will feature an IBM Quantum system, offering students and researchers direct access to cutting-edge quantum computing technology.

This milestone is part of CETQAP’s unwavering commitment to advancing Pakistan’s capabilities in quantum and artificial intelligence technologies. The lab will provide an immersive learning environment for students and researchers, empowering them to delve into groundbreaking quantum computing research, algorithm development, and complex problem-solving in areas like quantum chemistry, optimization, and artificial intelligence.

Additionally, the lab will serve as the hub for preparing Pakistan’s first Quantum Qualification Test (QQ1), a national-level assessment designed to evaluate and certify quantum computing skills. This initiative aims to set a benchmark for quantum literacy and professional expertise across the country.

The facility will also spearhead various AI-driven projects, fostering innovation in fields such as machine learning, natural language processing, and neural network research. CETQAP’s vision aligns with creating a robust ecosystem that supports both theoretical and practical advancements in cutting-edge technologies.

“We believe this lab will not only place Pakistan on the global quantum technology map but also inspire a new generation of innovators ready to tackle complex challenges in science and technology,” said a spokesperson for CETQAP.

CETQAP has already made significant strides in Pakistan’s tech landscape, including its pioneering work in Quantum Nursery Rhymes and the development of predictive reports like Pakistan 2025 Predictions and Solutions. With the launch of this Quantum Lab, the organization takes another step toward making Pakistan a leading hub for quantum and AI research in the Muslim world.

The lab is expected to open its doors in early 2025, marking a historic moment for Pakistan’s scientific community. Researchers, students, and innovators are encouraged to join CETQAP in shaping the future of technology and contributing to a knowledge-driven society.
