Islamabad, Pakistan – 25th Dec 2024: — The Centre of Excellence for Technology Quantum and AI (CETQAP) proudly celebrated the completion of its groundbreaking first year, coinciding with the 148th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Reflecting on a year of unprecedented progress and innovation, CETQAP’s achievements showcase Pakistan’s emergence as a key player in the global quantum and AI landscape.
Dr. Zuhair Ahmed (Chairman/Founder), the visionary behind CETQAP, shared an emotional connection between the institute’s progress and the Quaid’s legacy. “When we were on the verge of building our quantum computer, we deliberated on its name. I promptly said, no one deserves this honor except Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. That’s why we named it QQ1—a tribute to his leadership and a symbol of Pakistan’s potential in technology,” he stated.
In just one year, CETQAP has accomplished several milestones that place Pakistan at the forefront of quantum innovation:
Introduced QQ1 Pakistan’s 1st Quantum Computer: The world’s first Quaid-e-Azam-inspired quantum computer, complete with blueprints, final designs, and a comprehensive manual.
Launched Cryogenic Containers: Revealed the designs and blueprints for advanced cryogenic technology, essential for quantum computing.
BARQ 1.0: Launched Pakistan’s first quantum software, BARQ, featuring the world’s best UI/UX.
48 Workshops: Conducted 48 workshops in leading universities, introducing students to cutting-edge quantum technologies.
Global Internships: Trained over 350 students worldwide through internships.
International Representation: Represented Pakistan on prominent global platforms, highlighting the nation’s contributions to quantum technology.
Quantum Study Program: Enrolled 150+ students, with 20 full scholarships awarded to ensure inclusivity in quantum education.
Quantum World Day: Hosted Pakistan’s inaugural celebration of Quantum World Day.
Quantum Nursery Rhymes: Became the first institute globally to release quantum nursery rhymes for children, merging education with creativity.
Astronomical Advancements: Played a key role in capturing Mars, Jupiter, and other planetary observations, including moon sightings.
Social Impact: Helped eradicate smog and raised awareness on EID regarding H5N1, distributing 1,000 masks across Pakistan.
CETQAP’s journey is a testament to the Quaid’s vision of a progressive and technologically advanced Pakistan. Dr. Zuhair Ahmed emphasized, “Our achievements this year are just the beginning. We aim to transform Pakistan into a global leader in quantum technology and innovation, guided by the values of integrity, determination, and inclusion that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah championed.”
